BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY
Kelly B. Harvey surveyed and platted the town of Trabue. He
was one of the leaders of the movement to incorporate the city and change its
name to Punta Gorda in 1887. Harvey was an accomplished musician who played an
important part in the town’s first band and orchestra. He was a member of the
first city council and a president of the board of trade.
